Position Description
Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Description: This position involves the performance of semi-routine and diversified duties in connection with repairs to and maintenance of buildings and grounds requiring many skills found at the journeyman level such as carpentry for woodwork repairs, plumbing repairs, electrical work, sheetrock and drywall repair, painting work, and HVAC. Mechanic is expected to have knowledge of and manual skills in repairing such items as plumbing and heating valves and pipes, electrical switches, stoves, and refrigerators; windows, doors, and other wood materials, mechanical equipment (e.g. snow blowers, power mowers, hedge clippers, etc.), and in carrying out a full set of maintenance duties. May be required to work under hazardous and adverse conditions such as sleet, snow, heat, cold, dust, sewage and dirt.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. Certification in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or at least one year of prior experience in the maintenance mechanical field. An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered sufficient. Possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License and provide proof of automobile insurance/clean driving record.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications
