Housing Choice Voucher
The Carrollton Housing Authority Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is a rental assistance program for low income families. The HCV Program is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The waiting list is only open to current income-based housing program residents living in CHA properties for 12 months or longer. Those residents, if interested in being added to the waiting list, may request to be added by contacting the CHA administrative office. The waiting list is open periodically and the dates are announced in the Times Georgian classified section. Eligible families must keep their application up to date. All changes must be reported in writing.
Once on the program, all changes regarding the family composition or income must be reported within 10 days of the change, in writing, to the administrative office.

When a family is chosen, they are able to move into a home of their choosing based on their qualifications. Once on the program, all changes regarding the family composition or income must be reported by the 20th of the month in which the change occurs. The family will be recertified on an annual basis. The unit they choose to live in will also undergo an annual Housing Quality Standards inspection.
