The Housing Authority of the City of Carrollton (CHA) is pleased to announce that our income-based housing and Shelter Plus Care Program waiting lists will open beginning Monday, April 29, 2019. We will be accepting pre-applications at our main office located at 1 Roop Street Carrollton, Georgia 30117, Monday through Thursday, 8:00a.m. until 5:00p.m. and Friday, 8:00a.m. until 4:30p.m.

The Income-based Housing Program provides decent, safe and sanitary rental housing for low-income families and individuals, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The CHA manages units at five scattered sites, all within the city limits of Carrollton, Georgia, including: Thomas Homes, Griffin Homes, Ingram Homes, Elder Circle and Alabama Circle. This program is accepting applications for 2, 3, 4, and 5 bedroom applicants only.
The Shelter Plus Care Program provides rental assistance and supportive services for hard-to-serve homeless persons with disabilities, (primarily those with serious mental illness, chronic problems with alcohol and/or drugs, and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) or related diseases) and their families who are living in places not intended for human habitation or in emergency shelters.

Preliminary applications are available to applicants at the CHA’s main office or may be accessed via the housing authority’s website at www.carrolltonhousingauthority.com. Applications will be accepted by hand-delivery only at the CHA’s main office, located at the address listed above. Applications submitted by mail, fax, email or any other means will not be accepted. The CHA will close the waiting list and no longer accept applications once it has received sufficient applications to fill anticipated vacancies in the housing programs.

Persons with hearing disabilities can contact us by using the Georgia Relay Service at (TDD) 1-800-255-0056 or (VOICE) 1-800-255-0135. Visually impaired applicants needing assistance in completing the application form should make the CHA aware at the time they request an application.

The Housing Authority of the City of Carrollton does not discriminate in admissions or access to its federally assisted housing programs.
